Prayer comforts because if you pray you wish hopefully for a more heavenly spiritual coexistence with others, then we all prosper in that spirit, realizing of course that what will be will be and may be uncontrollable or have no illusion of control anyway to each and every prayer being.

Prayer can be good because if there is energy and compassion in the prayer then it may lead to an action that helps someone who is ill.
I am a praying agnostic (as opposed to a Christian or a mantis) =)

Prayer is a waste of time, because if you really want to get something accomplished then sitting around talking to air doesn't cut it.
