To cop out usually means: An excuse designed to shirk responsibility.

So you dodged some responsibility in a dirty way. Not a good thing.

It means that the person who said this to you thinks you arent telling the truth and that you have just "chickened" out of doing whatever it was you were supposed to do with them. It also means that person is not your friend. Friends dont try to make you do what they want by calling you names.

I think it means that you did the exact opposite of what you said you believed in.
EX: I'm a pacifist and yet you're for the death penalty
or you preach to someone to be faithful and yet you cheat
Something like that

That you promised something & they think you are the lowest to let them down. Just my oppinion but I dont think that of you.I think that was a nasty thing to say & I wouldnt speak to that person anymore.

That you lied and/or did not fulfill and abligation to someone or you took the easy way out by not doing what you were supposed to,....thus, letting someone else down.

Usually means you are not taking responsibility for something bad you said or did.

that maybe you're not worth an argument with. or maybe they just can't be bothered to be around you. anyway, just ignore it and get on with life. there are other far worse things they could have called you.

It's not a compliment. I'd say they're calling you basically a big p@ssy.
