A fever is the body's way of fighting off an infection so fevers are not always a bad thing unless they get really high. 102 is not that high it just makes you feel crappy. How old is your brother? It sounds like he has a tummy virus that may just have to run it's course. Make sure he gets plenty of fluids even if he doesn't want to eat so he doesn't dehydrate. You can alternate Motrin with Tylenol if needed for the fever (Tylenol 2 hours after a dose of Motrin). If he begins to vomit and have diarrhea he made need to be given something like Phenerghan (for nausea) and fluids from the emergency room. Take care.

How old is he? How long has he been sick? Did it start today, tonight? Did he eat something unusual or is he allergic to anything? You're not providing much to go on. I'll try to help if I can but I'm not a dr or anything.

Has the fever been rising or is it stable at 102? He needs to be watched carefully, if it continues to climb he needs to see a dr right away. at 106 the brain will start to overheat. NOT TO SCARE YOU. Keep calm. These things usually do not get that bad. If his stomach hurts, check and see if its tender to the touch in any particular area, GENTLY press the stomach, divide it into 4 areas. If you push and he just says ouch, ok no problem. If he screams or anything like that, seek help immediately, right away dont wait.

If his fever wont go down after motrin give him a luke warm bath NOT cold though. If you have some tylenol you can give him some 2 hrs. after giving motrin. As long as his tempurature doesnt continue to get higher dont worry too much just keep an eye on him. I am sure the bath will work wonders.

The "stomach flu" is going around right now. Your brother definitely has some kind of virus. You need to alternate between Tylenol and Motrin. Give the Motrin, wait 2 hours and then give the Tylenol, wait 2 hours and then give the Motrin...etc. If he starts to vomit and have diarrhea then you need to take him to the doctor. Children can get dehydrated very easily. Make sure you make him drink plenty of clear liquids. Water tends to upset sick stomachs so have him drink Ginger Ale, or Sprite. Gatorade works good if you water it down with 1/2 water. Hope he feels better soon!*

He's probably fighting some sort of infection. High fevers are not good especially for children. Take him to a doctor.
