I'm always thirsty, and it seems like nothing can take the thirst away no matter how much I drink.

It certainly should be something that is looked into further even if, as others have said, that no one in your family has diabetes. I would call your doctor as soon as possible and tell him or her of your symptoms and ask if he or she would like to see you in his or her office or whatever else is suggested.

A blood test can show the blood glucose reading (glucose is a type of sugar), and perhaps they would want to get a urine specimen if checking for that. I'm just guessing that those tests will be done, but please do not hesitate to call your family physician asap. It's better to be safe then sorry as they say. Better to rule things out, know what I mean. Please take good care of yourself!

Do you drink water or soda, that makes a difference. Make sure you get 6-8 glasses of water a day. Also, just because there's no history of diabetes in your family, that doesn't mean you couldn't have it. Get yourself checked out.
