A "Tramp Stamp"? Who made up that one?
Is that kind of like "Trailer trash"?
I have 3 tattoos and I think my husband may get pretty MAD at anyone calling me a tramp. I am so not even close!!
I have a Dolphin/sun on lower back and butterfly on upper back and a sun, moon and star on lower stomach.
Just call me grandma tramp LOL
I also love to go to heavy metal Concerts what does that make me???
Some people are so pious and judgemental. Always made me want to do outradgeous things since I was a teen.

Sorry but it looks very low-class.

Being the bearer of a few tattoos, I don't think that lower back tattoos are gross. I think that they can actually be beautiful works of art and very meaningful depending upon what you get. My brother drew the artwork that I have on my lower back and I love it. I wouldn't change a thing about it. I guess it's just a matter of what you like.
I definately think the the lower back is a GREAT place to have a tattoo as it is one of the least painful spots on your body to be drawn on and it is easily covered up.

You know a while back hardly anybody had tattoos, not men or women. Back then they were definitely associated with sleezy women. For guys it put you in a lower class but wasn't that bad if you were in the navy or marines. I know 1 of the afr. amer. fraternities was doing it too, and that was all right.

Then they got real popular. It was like any guy that went to college had to have one and then highschoolers picked it up. I was really against it then b/c I still had the old opinion that I got from my alchy uncle who had one.

After some time I started to see women doing it and I was still against it, not repulsed, but against it. Then I started to think it was ok if a woman had one near her xxxxx or maybe her butt. After that I saw them on their lower backs, and that kind of changed things. I started to think any woman who had 1 there was probly willing to have some pretty wild sexcapades, and that is always cool as long as they're otherwise normal.

I still kind of feel that way except now EVERYBODY has one so it's getting old. Time to flip the styles again so it's cool again to have no tattoo. And let's grow the hair back too, women, OK?

my husband used to be a tattoo artist. so i am lucky to bear 10 pieces of absolutely beautiful art on my body. it is -not- trashy, or gross..and honestly. i don't care who thinks it is. kinda hard to be "white trash" when you own a CLEAN home, have a beautiful child, own a car, husband is currently a police officer, never done drugs, don't drink except special occasions, etc..etc...

don't let anyone call you "trash" for havign a tattoo...no matter how many you have or where you have them. ot doesn't make you trashy, or a criminal, or gross, or diseased, stupid, or a bad person in any way. it makes you adventurous...and shows you are enjoying the only life you will have to it's fullest. even if you get a tattoo at 18..never regret it. it's a symbol of what your life was like at that very moment. a memory..whether it's good or bad.

i give you kudos for getting a tattoo finally. as for what i think about the guys that don't like it...who cares. i have a husband who adores every inch of my art and every hour i spent under the needle ^^

I personally think that a tattoo well done and stylish looks great on a woman's lower back. Especially if it's a unique design. I am growing tired of seeing tribal, butterflies, flowers and cute little Disney things, or any combination of those things. I like some originality when it comes to lower back tattoos. I am the proud owner of 2 rather large tattoos and I plan on lots more. My designs are totally original and IMHO are classy and feminine. My hubby would challenge anyone that called me names or judged me for my tatts. Heck, he inspired one of them:)

There are always going to be those who don't like tattoos. I didn't get mine for them or anyone else to like. I got them because I wanted them. I am a firm believer in "Don't judge a book by it's cover".

Congrats on you tattoo! I hope your birthday was awesome!

Without making judgement or categorize people on stereotypes, I think tattos on girls backs are a huge turn-on. It is really attractive to watch girl walk with clothing small enough to show the tat, and that really builds a physical attraction.
But the attraction to me is just physical and temporary, and any relationship above basic physical intimacy wont work because I think it is indicative of the girl's attitude and a bit trampy and dirty. Just my though, no offense to those who have or dont have tattoos.

I agree with you Deborah. Just because they are on your back doesn't make you a "tramp." This question is so popular. People are just amazed and some even seem shocked that any woman would put a tattoo there. Maybe some of us do it for professional reasons. We want a beautiful piece of artwork on us but yet we want to be employed! lol A man can put them on his chest and noone says anything about him putting it there for his girl to watch when they are intimate or they are just showing it off to attract woman.

I have tattoos and I don't care for tattoos on girls..some girls get tattoos on some odd places like their feet..or even worst their fore arms..I do like the small of the back tattoos ..if the girl is hot or cute it really doesn't matter..if she has a tattoo..its all up to you any ways..as long as you like it that's what counts..

A tasteful tat, is OK!
A tattoo right across the lower back is a turn off!

I think tattoos are wonderful. But when I see one on the lower back of a girl I think 2 things:

1. She plans to expose it wearing really low jeans, pants, underwear and all that

2. She um...well...likes her guy or guys to watch it from behind. Let you imagination fill in what I mean.

So I think they are trampy as one responder said and others agreed.

In a nice spot, like on the wrists, upper arms, neck, ankle are all great.

If you like yours..hey! that is the point no matter what any of us say!!!

for me the tattoos are just a drawing, they don't make the person, and never will, that is way they neither turn me on nor off, for me the person is the switch. But that is just me everybody live their life, and if they want a tattoo, they can have it.
