Without provocations such as these, atheists don't similarly appoint themselves as "planters" (and for that reason have the actual moral high ground over interventionist types).

If you leave everyone alone, you can still believe in any imaginary friends you want -- what is hard to understand about that??

I've yet to see a Christian defend their meddling with something they can prove God said to them. You keep invoking the writings of your fellow humans, who ~claimed~ it was the word of God, in a much more primitive time (you would think God would be much more vocal as the world becomes less primitive, for that very reason).

Fellow humans wrote Das Kapital and Mein Kampf, they doesn't keep their meddlings any validity.

Christians in particular seem to speak out of both sides of their mouth -- "you have free will" they constantly remind us, then constantly remind us their "first order" is to go and subvert free will with pressure tactics. Ask them why God can't do this alone, and again, they refer you back to the writings of fellow humans in lieu of any omniscient deity readily observable as such by all cultures in all eras without ambiguity.

But you are right, and I happily admit, we atheist have nothing as intelligent as creationism to pressure anyone into believing, nor legislate into officialdom when the direct interpersonal pressuring fails.

Trouble is that the god-botherers are much more motivated than we atheists.

What exactly would an athiest have to plant? Seriously, I mean as far as spirituality and religion goes...I thought athiests didn't believe in any kind of God.

I also wonder why it would be wrong, especially when someone asks a question or an opinion, to tell them about (ie. plant a seed) their religion. Especially when that question is posted in the religion & spirituality section.

I think that what that person was getting at was that religious people here offer answers and such and get slammed for the words they share. I sometimes check out the recipes and food section and I'll tell you this...when someone lists a recipe that someone else doesn't like...it doesn't get angry and heated...that person just doesn't cook that meal.

Many evangelicals think there is some hell fire that some deserve more than others. They have been programmed to not be able to think otherwise, kind of like leading a dog to his water dish. So as they are isolated while being programmed, when somebody moves the doggy dish, they go ballistic sometimes. Trick is to move it gradually to a new paradigmic location. Then they are better.

Well for one thing as a Christian, you are command to plant seeds. Some of them fall in the rocks and don't produce, some fall in dry ground come up but don't produce, but then there's always that one that is planted in good soil, it comes up produces its own fruit and continue to spread. That's the likeness of Gods word and his children. There has been and always will be people who mock God, his word, and his children. But like all things written it to will have its end.

You may still be able to believe in God without planting seeds, but you can not serve or obey him without doing it. It is the number one purpose that Christians are left in the world after they are saved.

In facts, God's first commandment to them was "to be fruitful and multiple and fill the earth". That refers to the spiritual just as much as the physical.

As for atheist not "planting", its is because they have nothing useful or intelligent to plant.

Matthew 28:19 (Spoken by Jesus after the resurrection)
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Yes, christian evangelicals keep planting their seeds, and we atheists will keep weeding them right out.

The scales will fall from the eyes of those who question.

that way to have a bunch of little sheep running around "doing God's will". Arrogance is part of their religion.
