I am looking for my Grandmother whom I've never met and my Mom last seen her when she was 8. All I know is her First, Middle and Maiden name, year of birth and obviously my Grandfather was her first spouse. Even though I know she is Cajun and most likely still living in Lousinana, it is still soo hard to find any TRACE of her. Could someone please help me, give me advice. I don't want to spend a lot of money in Family search engines, I would like to look at records for free but again I am open to suggestion.

Thank you all in advance!!!

GenevievesMom, I sent you an email with as much information that I know about her and thank you again!!!
Zabasearch is very cool also (although no luck) and My-moms-kids, you are very right about my Grandmother not being welcoming of us, but I guess its just one of those endeavors that me and my Mom need to go through at this time of our life.

I'm no fan of posting info about living people on sites like this. But if you want to email me through my profile with the info that you have, I'll run her name through several of the databases I have access to (paid sites) and see if we can find some sign of her.

I understand when you say that you don't want to spend money on search engines and the like. Why don't you try Zabasearch.com and type in their names. You will get a list of names with some telephone listings (maybe). By starting your search there, you may end up finding the person you're looking for or someone who knows the individual. Good Luck with your search!

Just a thought... playing devils advocate...
Why would you want to know a person who would abandon their child at the age of 8?
I am adopted, so I do understand the need to feel connected and know your bio-history, but this doesn't sound like it would be healthy.
Did your mom ever tell you about her?
If she hasn't been in touch with your mom, chances are she won't welcome your finding her.
I am sorry to be a downer here, but I hope you go into this with eyes wide open instead of rose colored goggles.
