If you have a good amount in a color that someone might want to use, consider advertising it here": http://www.freecycle.org/. This is a sort of "classified ads" by community where people can find things or get rid of things they no longer want or need. The only catch is that everything offered must be free!

You could also ask local charities if they (or anyone they know)would have any need for your paint.

You could donate it to a school for theatrical productions (usually they will only use latex).

Most landfills cannot take paint in a liquid form. If you open the paint so it thoroughly dries out, it can be disposed of in a landfill in my state (you could check about yours).

Thanks for caring enough to ask!

One way to get rid of paint is to mix it with kitty litter and let it harden. Then it can be thrown ou to a landfill or incinerator. If there is a lot of it you may be able to donate it to a place that wants to do paint, Habitat for Humanity, or to paint sets for a play. Inquire at your school district. The cat litter is the accepted means used by cooperative extension .

Your waste disposal company should have a hazardous materials site. Take it there; they'll deal with it.
