I will be moving to Manhattan and I will live there for a few years. I have a car that I really like so I don't want to sell it. I know people use subway in NYC so I will probably not going to use the car often (or at all).

Where can I find inexpensive long-term parking near Manhattan, like in Queens, Blooklyn, NJ? Is it possible to find one that's not too far that cost less than $100 per month?

It doesn't have to be a garage. I just want to have a place to put the car there for a couple of years without being towed somewhere when I don't know.

Long Term Parking Manhattan

In Astoria Queens you can rent a small unheated outdoor garage for about $125-$175 a month. Walk around the neighborhood looking for "FOR RENT" signs on doors. Usually what they are renting is garage or outdoor parking. You can also locate a spot by checking with a real estate office, but they will ask a fee.
Astoria is a quick 10 minute ride from Manhattan on the N or W subway line.

Manhattan and inexpensive never belong in the same sentance. You are never going to find a place that will keep your car for 2 - 3 days a day. Unless you meet someone there who is willing to store your car and you pay them it just won't happen.

well you will not find something for less than $100 a month. But go along 12th avenue in the 30's and 40's. There are a ton on lots to park around there and from experience, its cheaper than the east side.

Just bite the bullet and sell it. You are never go to use a car if it takes you an hour to go and get it. You might as well just rent one when you need it.

If you really decide to bring it, I would call up an insurance place before you get here. You will be SHOCKED at the price of insurance on a car that you will not be using.
