Wasn't that sweet? I sure liked him. How about you? What denomination was he, do you know?

I just remember from old clips of his. I like anyone that gives all glory and honor to God.

The ACLU must of missed his shows....otherwise I'm sure they would have had him in court lickey-split for spreading the blessing of God....you know, hate speech and all...

Sure.. and i'm actually old enuff to rember it in first run TV... I liked Red.. but then again I liked Uncle Milty too (I think he was the worlds first telivised DRAG QUEEN LOL)

I am NOT an xtian.. but I have no real problem with people saying god bless etc.. nor do I even have a problem with prayer in school etc.. what i have the problem with is someone FORCING god or prayer on someone at some place.. rember your god may not be mine (in fact I can guarantee it)

Xtians are likely the most pushy bastards on the earth.. muslims are likely second.. I'm not particularly fond of either LOL.. for my money they can both shoot each other just leave me out of it OK?

Red Skelton closed all his shows with "Good night, and may God bless." He was a great man, who brought joy to millions with his comedy, his art, his humanity, and his charity. He was very patriotic, raised in the heartland of America (Indiana). He was a member of the Freemasons. As far as religious denomination, I don't know.

No I don't remember that show. Well he said "may God bless" but he might have not even been a Christian and it is just a saying he had on that show. I don't know what denomination he was.

I watched that show a lot as a child. I saw him do an interview once and he said that he used the word "May" because it was not right to speak for God. Just saying God Bless was speaking for God. I have often thought about his words over the years. Not once did you see him trying to force his religious opinions on anyone.

I remember watching him when I was little. Remember Gertrude and Heathcliff, the two seagulls? He was quite a character! =) It had to still be going in the 60s also, because I wasn't born yet during the 50s. Sorry, I don't know his denomination.

I am not so sure you could pin down Red's religion to any organization. Red sufferred a lot of tragedy in his life and probably grew through life into a truth of his own that showed in his love for other people. A kind man evolved from circumstance. Nice guy though, from what I read and what I witnessed in his shows back then.
