Thinking of honeymooning in Belize in August. Looks like the best reviews are for the Turtle Inn and Roberts Grove Inn.

Anyone have a preference? If so, why you'd pick the one you did.

Also, unfortunately, we have to go in August (the rainy season). Anyone know if the rainfall will be too prohibitive to having a fun time?

Hands down I would chose the Turtle Inn. It is one of the properties owned by Francis Ford Coppola. I have had several Honeymoons stay here and loved it.

As far as traveling during rainy season, it definitely could put a damper on things, but this can depend on your interests on if it will prohibit you from doing what you want to. Like any season, there is no way to predict just how good or bad it may be.

Depending on your budget and length of stay you have I would suggest doing a split stay and staying at his other property, the Blancaneaux Lodge. They grow a lot of there own food right there on site and use to prepare gourmet meals for there guests. This Lodge is in the "Jungle, mainland" part of Belize.

Congrats on your engagement!
