Well, she will find a place where she feels where it will be a good place, but I think a place that she would be left alone and that would be warm, I think it's ok, just let her find a place.

My cats have always been very happy in a large laundry basket or one of those large plastic storage tubs, lined with something soft and comforting that can easily be cleaned or thrown away. If this is a first litter the momma cat may not know what to do and you may have to help her, so a closet is not a really good idea if its not easily accessible. The cat will prefer to be away from other animals, children and people who are not her birth helper. Make sure that the basket you put her in is large enough for her to move around during the birthing process if she feels so inclined. Set up her basket ahead of time, put it in a quiet place and every time you think of it "introduce" her to the basket that way she will know where to go when its time.

let your cat decide..make up a box with old towels or sheets and put the box in a quiet place..if your cat decides she wants to use the box she will, if not then follow her to where she decides she wants to have them..be sure that you can reach the new Mom after she has the kittens in case there are any problems. My cat had her kittens both times in a box right next to where I was, wanting me in on the event. The latter was next to my bed being it was 10PM at night she had her first one. The 4 other kittens were born from 10:30PM to 2:00AM!

She may be happy in there, out of traffic and quiet. Try making her up a box with old towels in it and put it in the closet. Show it to her before her time and maybe she will use it.

We had a cat one time that used my daughter's treasure chest to birth in. (this we had not planned on but it worked)

Good luck !

Yes, if you can get her to, but after she has them she is going to move them again. The smell of blood. First try getting her into a small cardboard box to have her kittens, then mover her into closet, but keep it dark. Cats like old boxes, and nice dark places to hide. When you put her in closet, get a new box.

She will chose her own place. Most likely she will chose the closet because it is safe warm. Encourage her by placing a box with some soft towels or blankets to use.

yes, that's a good place if its snug, warm and private. Prepare a "nest" for her in there, preferably in an open huge cardboard box. Put in some towels or a clean old blanket at the bottom. Show it to kitty. If she starts "nesting" then she has accepted the place.

The closet is fine. But your cat will want to choose her own place. And you should let her. I had a cat that had hers in a dresser drawer one time.

You can't make her give birth in the closet. She will go where she feels the most secure.

i fixed a bed in my closet for my cat to give birth. and she knew it. when the time came she kept going in and out until i realized she wanted me in there with her. she then proceeded to sit on my lap and give birth to seven kittens. i tried to get out once, but she ran after me with a kitten hanging out of her. you may want to rethink the closet and let her find her own place.
