1926, in Washington State an irrigation canal became block. When ingineers rerouted the water into a ditch, the force of the water collapsed the underlying rock. In only six days, a small, 10-foot deep ditch became the 120-foot deep Burlingame Canyon.

Scientist belive the Grand Canyon was formed like this with the water from the Flood (book of Genesis).

I'm not trying to prove the Bible with science, but this is just an small example, that... The Bible could be right dude!!!

Solid rock? hmmm
Erosion? hmmm
We are forgeting that the Flood is water that covered the hole planet!!!
There is no solid rock for that, or erosion.

Are we living in a flooded world?
No... the water came down !!!
I think that rings a bell.

Now, I want you to look at the geology of the two canyons.

Grand Canyon is solid rock.

The Burlingame Canyon is predominantly gravel and loosely packed sediment.

AIG didn't exactly point that out, did it?

---------------------------

Even worse... I looked it up. AIG does mention that the Burlingame Canyon is a sedimentary scenario ( http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v24/i4/canyon.asp ) and yet doesn't explain that this sharply contrasts with the Grand Canyon scenario.

Isn't a lie of omission still ... I dunno... a lie?

---------------

Correct. A world wide flood would not have allowed for movement of water. This would not have permitted erosion.

No matter how you cut it, this article doesn't help your case, it weakens it.

---------------------

Exactly, we don't live in a flooded world. Which means the flood could not have happened considering the sheer volume of water that would have been required to flood the planet to cover Mount Everest, let alone do it in 40 days.

And presuming it just 'evaporated', it would have done so evenly, without strong currents, so again... the flood doesn't help make your case one way or another.

Yes. Canyons can form rapidly in certain types of geological structures. The Grand Canyon is not one of them.

No mainstream, accepted scientist believes the Grand Canyon was formed by Noah's flood. Nice try, though

Hmmm.... or could it be millions of years of erosion? Of course it could. This is the problem with Bible Science, it's not impartial, it's there to prove the bible. When forming a hypothesis and evaluating your evidence, it is most important not to have objectives in mind of how you want the answer to be.

Saw something the other week on the History Channel I believe... it was about David (of "and Goliath" fame). And yes, it's likely he existed, but there is no evidence of a palace in Jerusalem, or that he united anyone. Actually, taking everything into consideration, it's likely that he had his son killed.

This is the problem I have with people who say that everything in the Bible is true. Everyone who had a hand in writing it had an agenda. I don't like agendas. I prefer to deal with Divinity one on one instead of letting other people (especially dead ones) tell me what I should believe.

Yeah right, show me any geological book (not written by fundies with an agenda) which posits that the Grand Canyon is less than many millions of years old.

Where's you scientific data?? Do you know the Flood story is found in writings pre dating the Bible. The Bible flood is a local account of a the flood that occurs seasonally.
