I need to have proof of a tetanus shot before I can start volunteering at a humane society. I looked on my immunization record and it says that I have had a 'TD (adult)' shot but nothing is written by the tetanus. Is the TD shot the same thing as the tetanus shot?

I had it in 2004 so it should still be good, right?

Sounds like you did have a tetanus/diptheria combo shot. Be sure it has been within the last 10 years, however, and preferably in the last 5 if you will be working with animals.

TD refers to Tetanus and Diptheria vaccine which are often given together. However, you have to check the year of your dose, you may need a booster shot after 10 years of the last dose.

Yes it is the same. Who ever gave the shot should have a record call them.

Yes, but if it's been over 10 years you need another...good luck, I'm glad there are nice people like you to take care of those poor homeless animals!
