Does wellbutrin help you stop smoking?

I have taken wellburtin before for depression. But i have heard that it will help you to stop smoking. But i have never smoked. Good luck.

I smoke and have taken Wellbutrin for several years now. I have yet to experience any side effects except for some dryness of the mouth. It has had no effect on my smoking or the number of cigarettes I smoke. Others may have different experiences with Wellbutrin. It all depends on the individual's chemistry and may work for others. The only way to know is to try it. At the low doses they start you at there is little chance of any major side effects.

WELLBUTRIN XL has demonstrated tolerability

As with all medications, you may experience side effects when you take WELLBUTRIN XL. Side effects may be more common shortly after you start treatment. The most common side effects with WELLBUTRIN XL are weight loss, loss of appetite, dry mouth, skin rash, sweating, ringing in the ears, shakiness, stomach pain, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, trouble sleeping, muscle pain, nausea, fast heartbeat, sore throat, and urinating more often.

Seizures may occur (studies showed an incidence of 1/1000 - 4/1000). The chances of having seizures increases with higher doses. Taking more than 450 mg/day increases the chance of serious side effects. If you have nausea, take WELLBUTRIN XL with food. If you have trouble sleeping, remember to take WELLBUTRIN XL in the morning. Do not change your dose or stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL without talking to your doctor.

If are firm to give up smoking it helps, but if you are causal that every thing should happen on its own then it wont. This drug basically decreases the craving to smoking You should use as weapon given to you fight against smoking, reamer you have fight your war.
this drug can be started along with smoking but you should make up your mind stop smoking then with in one week craving for smoking comes down. Don't experiment with this drug unless you have made up your mind to quite smoking. Consult your doctor before starting this drug because he will council you the tricks & some tips how to quite smokeing

If start this drug with out proper guidenss you may lose the importtant weopan, you have got to quite smoking becuase later you lose faith in the drug & you mess up issue (becuase faith also cures)
Side effects not serriuos only known epileptics may get convulsison & not helath ones at higher dose if not strated in step wise fashion without guidence of your doctor, other side effetcs are less comman somthing agiatation dray mouth nuasea can occur which your doctor should be able to manage

Buck up quite smoking, Becuase chances of heart attack lung cancer & COPD, Perpherial arties disease goes down by quiteing smokeing
