Im having the hardest time trying to potty train her because shes not really grasping the idea. I didnt have these problems with my older daughter. Ive tried even letting her wear panties so she could try and distinguish between wet and dry, but she squatted on the floor and let go, any suggestions are helpful!

I didn't potty train my son until he was almost 3-every child is different. First, you need to know if she is ready for potty training. One way to tell is if she takes off her diaper when she is wet or cry when she is wet (means she doesn't like the feeling).
With my son, I put him in pull-ups for two weeks, so that he would get the idea that undies pull up and down and do not fasten with tape. I would take him into the bathroom every 15 minues and put him on his potty chair. I would give him 5-10 minutes of sitting there. When I would go to the bathroom, I would bring him with me and sit him on his chair. You can even bring the chair out and let her sit on (with diaper on) while watching tv (to get the feel of it). Once my son got the feel of the potty, the training began to progress.
After two weeks of pull-ups, I decided that I could no longer afford them. I put him in some cotton- training undies. When he would go in his undies, I would let him sit in it for 5 minutes to get the feeling of it being "icky." Then, when he started to use the potty, I provided rewards. When he went pee in the potty, I gave him a sticker. When he had a BM in the potty, I gave him a small toy (like those cheap party favors that you can get in large quanities). After 3 weeks of doing this, he was potty trained.
However long it takes, remember one thing, children sometimes forget to use the potty and have accidents. My son is now 5 and has an accident atleast once a month (to busy playing or goes into a deep sleep). Tell her that you know sometimes it is hard to remember to use the potty and to please remember next time. Don't ever punish or scold her as this could lower her self esteem and may take even longer to potty train. Good luck!

I'd have to say that she just isn't ready yet. Let her sit on the potty while you get her bath ready. The running water may help and praise her good job if she does go. I also put my daughter on the potty when changing her clothes. If you can get her to go once, maybe she will think it is fun. My daughter wouldn't train til she was 3.
Try a reward when she goes. I wrapped a small present and put it where she could see it every day. Then I made a chart with squares (about 12 of them). Every time we went potty we put a sticker in a square. When the squares were full, we got a present. I started adding more squares to the chart every time I made a new one. Before long we stopped using the chart.

My daughter just turned 2 and has been using the potty during the day for 2 weeks now and sometimes at nap time. Whate helped us was the feel and learn pull ups. My daughter went potty in them and wanted it off ASAP, because it makes it cold. Also she didnt like the potty seat that went on a regular toliet. So we had to get her a little potty chair. We dont even have to tell her when to go she just goes. Also If she went in her pants she had to go to the corner for 2 minutes. The first couple times she went we gave her ice cream and told her she was a good girl, big girl. And she loved that. Good luck

i know this will sounds weird but back off the idea for a couple weeks. she might not be really old enough to understand what she is supposed to do. give her a little time and then try again. getting frustrated will only make her more tense especially if she truly doesnt understand what shes doing wrong. play it by ear. you will recognize the signs, when shes ready to try again. maybe try some pull ups and show her how she can pull them up and down but if she doesnt take to it right away, its ok, she will.it just takes time.

maybe its me me - but if she doenst want to - dont push her. My first child also didnt want to. He started pre school at 2 1/2 (boy) and he picked up alot there. One day he just wanted to pee in the toilet and we were so happy. Honestly, I told my husband "I know he will pick it up when he is ready, lets not push him. As long as he is fully potty trained by kindergarden - I'll be happy"
He was fully trained a little over 3.

She is not ready yet. It will only make you upset and frustrated. Give her some time. Wait until she shows signs that she is ready. My daughter was 3 when she was fully potty trained.
