My grandma was born in 1904. She taught me how to make homemade pie crusts when I was 13 years old. Using her traditional recipes, I would make one pie per person each Thanksgiving. (We had a small family, so I averaged about ten pies per year, all made within 24 hours of eating. YUM!!) The most popular ones (that I still make each year) are...

pumpkin
pecan
dutch apple
coconut cream
lemon meringue

Nothing is made from a mix and it takes me about 12 hours from start to finish, but it's worth every bite!!! YUM!!!

(If anyone wants the recipes, message me)

Blessings

ps The mock apple pie listed above really is awesome!! With my Grandma's crust, my brother (who is a very picky eater) was completely fooled. I told him as he was taking the last bite of his second piece...LOL
