My best friend of 4 years likes me as more than a friend and I don't like him that way...he is also going to ask me out and how do I tell him I don't like him like that. I'm scared it will ruin our relationship but if I go out with him I won't be happy with myself...what do I do?

I am in the exact same situation, except my friend has asked me out already. I told him I could never feel for him the way he feels for me. That I love him like a friend and all I'll ever want is to be his friend. And that being anything else would ruin a wonderful friendship and I could never live with that. He took it very well. Our friendship hasn't changed in the slightest. He did tell me he was heart broken but he that he was glad for my "gentle approach" and my honesty.
Just tell him how you truly feel. If he's a true friend and he truly cares for you, he will respect your wishes, be understanding and remain your friend.
Good luck!

You have to stop hanging out with him. I know you dont want to hear that, but if you say no it will ruin the relationship. He will be crushed and angry. On the other hand if you say yes and you dont like him then youll be hurting yourself.

Tell him that you don't want to be more than friends. I just got through this with my best friend, but I was the one who liked him. He should understand that you just want to be friends and it will be very awkward at first, but things should get back to normal soon.

Just tell him the truth and say that your always going to be by his side in the good and bad but just as friend.
