I agree with everyone who says that age is just a number; how many years one has spent on the planet shouldn't matter at all if the love is true and right. My little sister is 16 years younger than her husband (ages 25 and 41), and they have been happily married for 7 years and have a beautiful family and home together, with two of the happiest little ones I've ever seen. If the love is there go for it!!

That is a question asked all over the world--what is important, is the maturity level of the people---what do you think a 30 year old man wants with an 18 year old girl?? And at 40 he will be all old and she will be disappointed that he's all tired out. And an 18 year old with a 13 year old-- just plain stupid--and trouble too. The ages are subjective--you really have to consider what it will be as the future rolls by. Sure it may work today--but not later---and an 18 year old taking a 30 year old to the prom??? Might as well go with dad or a teacher. Stick to the good common sense God gave you. Smile, be nice...good luck

I think it depends on the situation. If both parties are adults then the age difference shouldn't matter but in the same breath age extremes can raise an eyebrow and sometimes they are altogether inappropriate. For example, an 18 years old girl and a 40years old man is inappropriate although both parties are adults. In contrast, a 30 years old woman and a 52 years old man is fine. Some people may wonder why a young woman would want to date a man of that age but ultimately there's nothing wrong with their decision because they are two consenting adults. I think it just depends on the situation.

Age is only a number as long as it's true love, but I think you need to be at least 25 if it's going to be a really big difference.

the standard is 5 years, but it's only a number, the bigger the difference, the less you will have in common. you will be talking about the all american rejects and he will be talking about barry manilow. you will be thinking sports car and he will be thinking the bigger the car is the safer it is. but and that's a big but, the more money he has, the more inclined you will be to see it from his point of view. money makes a guy younger ya know. or he can at least afford to be less mature.

Well, I'm dating someone that's five years younger than me and he can't keep up with me!! So, I would say ten years is the max in either direction. I have a friend who was seeing someone in their mid twentys and he's almost 40..that didn't last long because all he did was complain about how clingy and demanding she was. Not good. He ended it with her, and felt a sigh of relief when it was over.

If you really love the person that your in a relationship with, then it shouldn't matter what age they are or how big of an age difference there is.

my mom is 10 years older than my dad.
my boyfriend is 2 years older than me.
my sister is 4 months older than her boyfriend.

honestly 14 years might be a little much...but if you are deep enough in love...age doesn't matter.

i think 5 and 2 are appropriate. :]

5 years or less if you want to "go through life together". otherwise one will be looking for Medicare plans and the other will be hoping for a promotion to management.
