I can speak both quite fluently if not fluently, and I think that you should really have a teacher or at least someone who can help you learn the pronunciations and rules in person. There are so many differences between and German that it will be difficult to learn German alone unless you understand some of the concepts that you will learn from learning most other languages.

For example, concepts such as assigning genders to nouns (der, die, das, etc.), changing those genders as one changes cases (from nominative to accusative "der" goes to "den" and so on), and the accusative, dative, and two way prepositions may confuse someone who has never had an experience with another language. As an English speaker, you probably have never been exposed to those terms, and they are difficult to pick up from a book or e-mail from someone you find on here.

If you cannot find a way to learn German right now, be patient, and find a way to learn a different language as a stepping stone to learning German. For example, Italian, Spanish, and many other languages have conjugations and similar concepts that will apply to German.

E-mails about German will not be able to help you with pronunciations at all. For example, "Euro" is pronounced very differently in German although it is spelled exactly the same. The "funny" thing about German is that it is a very phonetic language--the words are almost always pronounced exactly as they're spelled. In English, as soon as you learn a rule about pronunciation or anything else, the rule is broken.

If you want to try pronunciations anyways, I would suggest that you find some music from German bands such as Rammstein, Silbermond, Eisbrecher, Die Prinzen, Juli, or Die Toten Hosen. Rammstein is the most popular and best in my opinion although their lyrics are not appropriate, but who doesn't want to know inappropriate German words to insult everyone, eh? Ha ha. Anyways, you get some of those songs, and then you do an internet search for the lyrics and hope to find it accompanied by an English translation too. I know that Rammstein's Herzeleid website has the lyrics in both English and German side by side. You listen to those songs while the music is going; you'll pick up some pronunciations, learn words, and listen to good music at the same time!

(To find that website Google "Rammstein lyrics translations" or something. The website is http://herzeleid.com/ or something like that.)

Best of luck!

you are funny ... how can you expect somebody to help you here online? You probably got to look for somebody in your area, where you live.
Besides, do you expect anybody giving you such a huge amount of help for nothing ? What would you be offering in return?
