Absolutely. Animals are able to detect the changes in behavior that those around them are displaying. Aside from feeling you are also experiencing chemical changes that are triggers to your pets. They will pick up on them and want to make you feel better.
Just as pet owners can pick up on when their pet is not at its best, pets pick up on their peoples moods.
It as been proven in numerous studies that pets can improve people's moods and their health. When animals are brought into hospitals they instinctively go to those patients who are feeling the most depressed and within moments those people are experiencing elevated moods.
Your pets think of you are part of their pack/pride and want to be there for you. Think of it like a family, not all members always get along but when one of them is not at feeling the best everyone rallies around them to make them feel better.

Cats and dogs are wayy much more inituitive than humans and much more than us humans realize.

Do you know why, when you pass an unfamiliar place, a dog barks and continues barking long after you've passed by?
This is not only to scare you and try to get you off "its" property.

It is because they can quite literally smell your fear (and no I don't mean the scent let off by sweat, though it too is very strong).
And your scent leaves behind signatures of that smell of fear, and it'll linger for a while. Especially on a windy day.

That's also part of why you try to stay upwind when hunting.

It's more likely that they think you're unwell.
Animals are instinctive and creatures like cats and dogs are pack animals in the wild. When they are domestic animals, they will often view their human family as part of their pack.
If they think you are sick, they will more likely stay close to you in case you need their help or try to bring you food like rats your cats have caught.

I think animals are sensitive. They like us. I was like an uncle to a really wonderful dog, she loved me, when my dad was dying she could tell I was upset and she gave me a lot of love and sympathy, she was wonderful. Like I just finished saying answering another person's question, there has to be a heaven for wonderful loving pets, cats and dogs that love us so much. Your pets do love you, they care about you, you can tell.

Absolutely. The fact that they are doing it together should be a sign. Another would be if they like your boy friend. If not, then perhaps your four-legger fellow travelers on the planet Earth might actually be your best friends right now.

Yes, animals are very sensitive to human emotions. When I'm sick my cats stay right by my side. It is their way of giving comfort.

ABSOLUTELY...many animals, especially domestic animals, develop a keen sense of their owner's emotions and feelings. Even notice that when you are particularly down in the dumps and your animals cudle up extra close? That's why...

Definetely, animals can sense a mood change. Just like us humans can tell when other people are feeling blue.
