Why would you build circular libraries to house square books? Architects sometimes get an idea in their head and completely ignore the wider aesthetics.
Circular houses do present problems: where do I put the bed, what do I do about wardrobe space etc.?

Good question. Feng Shui is very popular.
I sense a real answer here, but I'll have to think of the proper wording...
The spirit of the question suggests building a man-made structure that is not congruent with the landscape.
A belief system can be a man-made structure built on the landscape of the Psyche.
Hmm...let me consider this...
-----on second thought, I'll let Run, satan..finish it.
