I cant see there is a problem. I was 35 when I met my partner aged 50. We have a great relationship.
When your brother is 30 and this girl is 26 the age difference wouldnt be noticed.

Compatibility is more important than age.

It is not a question of years as it is maturity. A 16 year old girl is not mature enough to have a 20 year old guy and usually parents do not want their daughters dating a guy who should be mature enough to be dating women not young teenagers. I know I would have him arrested if I could. A 16 year old can not go to all the same places he can . Women of comparable age are a better choice because they are of legal age to make choices a 16 yr old can not. In some states he could be arrested for what they call statutory rape. Having sex with a minor. If parents can prove it or she calls him out on it he can see jail time. He should think twice about dating minors.
As he gets a bit older he may care for a younger woman and that is respectable but he has to have a woman of equal maturity.

Sure in 2 years it is. He has a legal barrier. People in this country are all sensitive about being under 18 and doing anything. Its our religous culture that is in the way. There are very few other countries in the world where this would be a problem.

In fact there are many other countries that have their 13 year old daughters married off to men that are older than 50. I'm not sanctioning it or anything but I'm pointing out that our country is very sensitive on the topic. So like I said.. if she were 18 there would be no argument from the parents that he would be wrong. Right now he could get in hot water with the law.

No, it's not okay. Your father and his wife are both adults. Your brother is an adult but his girlfriend is still a teenager without the maturity that comes with being out of school and living an adult life.

Also, depending on the state, it could be illegal for him to do anything physical with a minor so he may also be breaking the law. Is he so immature that he has to go backward to a high school girl to find someone he's got things in common with?

Sounds like both men like younger women they can have a greater influence over.
20 is too old for 16
52 & 34 ok, hope your dad looks good or has money. If I was your mom I'd be pretty annoyed.

To be honest the 20 year old needs to find a girl his own age. What does her parents think, or do they know? This MAY not last very long. What do they have in common? Then again age is only a number But.....maturity is something else.

There is a big difference in the 2 relationships. Your fathers relationship is the resonable one. And your brothers will get him 5-15 because she is underaged.

They are both over 18 and are adults. A 20 year old and a 16 year old are still in their youth. Just because your parents are years apart doesn't make it okay for him. I can't really judge the relationship, because idk them, but maybe they should think hard about this relationship. Is the years of difference worth it?

This is the flaw in his logic: both your father and your step-mother are adults. but in the teens a few years make a *big* difference in maturity. your brother's in college or working; his s.o. is still in high school. and I hope he thinks twice before he sleeps with her. even if it weren't ILLEGAL, he just shouldn't IMO. neither of them sounds ready to have that level of commitment.

That said, there is little to nothing you can do about it. Don't waste too much sleep or breath on it.

the age difference is ok but him using your dad's relationship with your mom isn't ok......he shouldn't need an excuse 4 the age difference between him and his gf as long as he likes her
