I've been super exahusted lately, and very emotional. I feel run down allot, falling asleep is a huge problem for me. My husband left for Iraq and My family isn't being very supportive. Im living in an area that is 15000 miles form home, and I've only been here for a month. The other wives arent very nice, and Im having a great level of difficulty fitting in. Is it possible Im suffering from depression? If I talk to a therapist am I likely to be prescibed an anit-depresant? Is there a way to avoid that?

Talking to a therapist would be a good idea. Tell the therapist that you don't want to take an anti depressant. If a therapist won't listen to you change therapists.

sounds like depression or anxiety. if you don't want any meds to help (I know where you're coming from) besides meds only work temporarily. Try not to rely completely on making friends because you may put too high expectations on those relationships. You might want to try to find a hobby. Or see if there's anywhere you can volunteer at just to keep your days interesting. And about the other wives not being so nice, keep in mind they are also going through stressful times and could be in the same kind of boat that you are in. Give it time and some of them may come around.

You probably are suffering from depression but that doesn't mean you would be prescribed an anti-depressant. That's only for severe circumstances. Either way, there's no way they can force you to take it unless you're a danger to yourself. There are so many ways of working out of depression without medication and your therapist would be able to help definitely. S/he is the best person to talk to about this since s/he is trained to handle these sorts of problems. There's nothing to lose by talking to him/her.

You are suffering form depression. Do you have children? If you speak to someone and they want to prescribe medicine for you, you don't have to take it. Pray and stay strong...
