The cylinder arrangement on a 4.6L SOHC V8 is as follows:
(4) (8)
(3) (7)
(2) (6)
(1) (5)
Front

It's the second cylinder from the front on the engine, on the driver side bank of cylinders. Firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. Hope this helps.

rakel,kayef,and fordman are all correct, Ford Gasoline engines are numbered weird compared to other v-8 makers and it is the second on from the front on drivers side (you may have to move the power steering bracket for access)

If Rakel says it's the second one back on the right side as you look at the engine, I believe her. You should too.

3rd cylinder back on the right side looking at the engine from the front.

bill is right.on a chevy v-8 it would be on the opposite side.
