Ok, so I got my tattoo Tuesday night, and it's now Saturday night....I've heard it's supposed to scab up and the skin is supposed to peel but it's has not happened yet....it's a little itchy and it stings sometimes, but other than that it's smooth and it feels fine.....I keep the A & D ointment on it all the time....I just wish it would hurry up and heal so I could shave and stuff like that.....Anybody got any feedback?

Leave it alone as you have said and let it heal. Patience is a virtue:)

the scab is probably not what you are expecting it to be. it's not a hard crusty scab. the tattoo is likely already scabbed and should probably start peeling in a day or two. itching is the first indication of healing and the beginning of a peel. you should continue to put whatever your artist said on the tattoo but you should NOT shave until it is completely healed (two weeks minimum)

just follow up with the aftercare instructions that your artist gave you. don't pick your scabs; don't scratch; and don't soak it in any water. you should wait about a month before shaving it. i know... it's hard and you'll be furry... but it's better than a messed up tattoo. also, peeling is one of the last stages of the healing... if you were tattooed on tuesday then you've got a little while. it will take about a month or so to fully heal.

ok just be sure not too put on too much ointment cause it will make your the ink turn mushy kinda...im not sure how to explain it but your tattoo will fade if its kept too moist..
and whatever you do dont pick at the scabbing or peel off the dead skin...
and if it does itch the only thing you can do is put alittle iny bit more ointment on it or slap it. yes i said slap it it will get rid of the itch and and wont cause any damage to your tattoo.

It's not scabbing up because you are taking good care of your skin. Keep using the A&D ointment for another week and then a good lotion. Shave around it - you're doing so well another several days won't matter.

It does NOT necessarily have to scab. But it will shed the dead skin cells and excess ink over the fist week or so. Just kick back and have a hairy spot for a while. You have the rest of your life to shave.......

Let it dry out a little, lay off the ointment, use Curel lotion sparingly. Tattoos are low maintence. Stop fussing. Let it do it's thing.

your fine, but change from a&d to straight lotion. A&D is only for the first 2 days to prevent rashing. don't fuss with it let it go. because if it does scab up and you itch it or play with it you can lose the ink on your tat.

the healing process id different from person to person, my sisters tats were completely healed within one week after getting where with me it takes longer, I recommend using lotion on your tat instead of A&D, when I got my first tattoo I used A&D and had issues with the ink coming out from using too much of it curel lotion works great .......Good luck
