My dog is a 10 mounth old Queenslin Border (sp?) and when she was younger she used to bite and do little attacks for attention. She doesn't do this now after being trained not to, although she sometimes gently bites our hands if she wants to lead us somewhere.

Anyways, after our ten minute walk today, which was peaceful and she enjoyed it alot, we get closer to the driveway and she instantly jumps and grabs hold of my arm and growls. Shes biting harder and jumping closer to my face until we finally get in the house!

About an hour after that, i take her on a second walk and she does the same thing when we get near our sidewalk.

She also does this when i try to bring her back inside from "going potty" in the backyard. We have to put her on a leash since she just had surgery on her shoulder and we have to keep an eye on her at all times so she doesnt lick herself.

Anybody know why she is suddenly starting this??

She has been spayed.
Training is in proccess, for the BOTH of us.
The doctor says the exercising should be limited on account of the stitches.

Three quick things - more training (obedience training done professionally for both your dog AND you), spaying and more exercise.

Training is needed here. It seems that she is trying to tell you when to come in - that is, she'll let you know when she's ready to go in. How dare you tell her to go in now? This needs to be reversed. You need to set yourself up more as the "alpha" in the household. Proper obedience training (done professionally and more than just a token class or two) can help.

Also, has she been spayed? If not, she may be in heat and wants to be out roaming. You bringing her inside prevents her from mating. So please get her spayed if you haven't already done so.

Lastly, but most unlikely, she may need to be exercised more. Try going for longer walks. She may be happier with extended walks, rather than short ones. Plus, longer walks will use up much of that puppy energy.

Good luck!

i would have a choke chain on her used right it won't hurt her....behind ears at top of neck the loop u attach chain to doubles back over and the ring touching neck on the side u are not on... when she goes to jump at u pull back and away it does not have to be a hard pull for most dogs make her sit until she is calm again proceed home. keep doing this until she stops jumping and biting u. she's tring to be the boss.

it doesnt want the time together to end...you dont spend enough time with your dog....a dog like that requires about 4-6 hrs of interaction per day with its masters.....family itme, play time etc
