lol and he posted.....i've desided just to ingore him and maybe he'll go away .....he's one of the ppl who believe everything the media tells him...because the media never says about gramm's a little evil poodle the bite the grand child in the face...or the nice sheltie that bit in to a kids ankle... i'm not putting down those breeds my aunt had a very nice poodle who i loved very much.....
they ALWAYS BELAME THE BREED! some day i hope someone can smack some sense into ppl and they'll relize its not the breed its the owners...fault for letting dog run at large, chaining ANY dog to a box...poor training is the biggest problem....

i just had a great idea..ya know how if u have a dangerous breed and own a home ur insureance goes up I think the insureance companies should do behavior tests so GOOD OWNERS don't have to pay more.

DON"T BAN BREEDS BAN STUPID PPL FROM HAVING THOSE BREEDS!

I think people are so quick to judge people and animals. There are some breeds that have been out casts as a "bad" breeds such as;
Doberman Pincher's
German Shepherds
Boxers
Grate Danes
Rottweilers
Those breeds are great breeds most of the breeds work with the police because of the drive to "protect" and they are bred to show no fear in things.
People who buy these breeds from reputable breeders need to be educated about the breed and must know if they want to work with such breeds. Including the Pitt Bull
Then we have the breeders that just want to breed the Pitt Bull because they enjoy watching the breed fight with other dogs and they feel it makes them "tough" these breeders are the ones that should be banned....not the dog
The we have reputable breeders that are breeding the Pitt Bull to be very loving and a great companion and a show dog. These breeders we need more of to protect the breed.
I have some friends that have Pitt Bulls and they will not get any other type of breed because they just adore the Pitt Bull and those friends have children that are under the age of 10 yrs
I get upset too when I hear about the Pitt Bull too.

I see hes making everyone mad. I think people need to stop judging dogs from what they hear about them. You hear about a handful of Pitts or other mean breeds attack people in a year. And its always in the ghetto part of a city because the dogs are not trained or they are abused and trained to fight. You never hear about all the thousands upon thousands of Pitts that make great pets. If they start to report every dog attack, other breeds will pass the Pitt in number of attacks, its just that the media is so mind set on Pitts are bad. When all it is are stupid people who think that. A dog can be trained to be loving, Ive grown up with the mean breeds all my life and not once has a dog attacked me or anyone for that matter. I love the German dogs (German Shepards, Pitts, Rotts and Dobermens along a few more "mean"dogs) those are the only dogs I would even own as a pet, I have a Rott now who is the biggest baby, who would not even hurt a fly.

Some breeds aren't bad, but attract bad people. Pit bulls are one of those breeds. I'm not saying every pit bull owner is a loser, but there are definately a higher percentage of loser pit bull owners out there. I feel sorry for the breed because so many of them don't end up in good homes.

Another thing about certain breeds is that they are very strong. Chihuahuas probably bite more than pits do, but a chihuahua is not capable of killing a person- no matter how mean it is.

When someone says that a certain breed is mean, I usually point the finger at the owner (or previous owner) and the media. Dogs with histories will always get the end of the stick (Or beat with it) because they're the breed the people want to further turn on. Saying there's a bad breed is like being racist. As I've said before, I have a pit who was abused by a fighter who wanted her to fight. She's currently living happily with me after FIVE different owners who couldn't deal with her depression. Had she not started out at such a bad place she probably wouldn't be so sad. But despite that, she's loving and very gentle with my brother's newborn and is always around him. She loves them and has NEVER bitten anyone. Yeah, I've got a pit..I've got the dog society looks down upon, but I don't see her biting people despite having such a terrible past....I point my finger at the media and the owner. They deserve the "bad" reputation...

Some breeds are actually bred to have a higher tendency to be mean for their purpose(like the Pit Bull which was used to keep bulls in line I believe) and that's just a fact. However, dogs aren't born mean. Just because they can become mean doesn't mean they will. It's a lot like humans in that if they are raised kindly, they will be kind and visa versa. You see mean dogs because some person taught them to be mean. Sometimes it's not even the owner's intention. I know a couple who had a dog and, whenever they would roughhouse with him, they would feed him a treat to calm him down. The dog associated aggressiveness with food and eventually had to be put down because of the fault of the owner. In other cases, dogs are aggressive so that they are better guard dogs or for things like dog fighting.

If feel Extreamly sad about this also.i cant belive they put out a law say that that you cnt breed them any more. That means that this Generation is the last generation of pittbulls.
im so angrey because i was doing some resech and it shows that golden retrivers are 20% more harmful to children then pittbulls are.thats really badd. But the worst thing is that its not even the pitt bulls fault its the owners.for either not getting him his shots that help his behavior and for maybe even trainging him to be a guadr dog that bites.that is mostly what happens.Im am totally against the law about pitt bulls.there acting like other dogs dont bite either. If i had the power i would tottaly erace this law.IHATEIT!! and i <3 Pitt bulls

actually a lot of it has to do with the breeding of the breed. Some breeds have been inbred to an extent that the bloodlines have been so intermingled that they are literally crazy. Pit bulls are on the verge of that. Thir propensity fr fihting and attacking has been bred into their nature. People found the meanest of the breed and used those males and females to produce a long line of pups that simply got meaner and meaner. Yes it is possible to raise one to be nice and friendly, but if it came down to it the dog would naturally snap and become mean again. Sometimes to protect its owner, sometimes to protect it's territory.

Some of that is just how Yahoo Answer is, so don't let it get to you. People like to say things to make other people mad. And pitbulls happen to be one of the hottest topics in the dog section. (If you let it) In other sections, it's politics, racism, etc. It's like the more you defend pitbulls, the more people will argue with you. Those who are seriously pushing for the pitbull ban are working on it in real life. Yahoo answers is entertainment and does not realistically threaten the breed.

There is no one breed that is consistently "mean". There are some that are bred to be reserved with strangers, such as Akitas, Great Pyranese, Kuvasz, etc. But early and effective socialization and training can change most of that.

Pit bulls have been bred to be affectionate and loving to humans, but more aggressive to other dogs. People let fear guide themselves too much.

I've met hundreds of Pitbulls and only a handful caused me to step back. I've met more small, foo foo dogs that were mean.
