Should be fine....whiskey has a long shelf life....even if it was opened
ADD ON
Don't listen to the stupid azz. That whiskey he's talking about WAS AGED 40 years IN A CASK. CC is aged at MOST 7 years in a cask. It might be 40 years in the bottle...but that doesn't mean anything. You MIGHT find a fool to buy it thinking it was aged 40 years....but that's fraud the last time I looked

There's only one way to find out....
But you might be better off trying to auction it off on e-Bay. As long as the bottle is genuine and there's some way to prove that it's really that old?
There's a market for everything. And who knows, there might be a collector out there who's just waiting for a 40 year old sealed bottle of Can. Club.
Good luck!
P.S. What exactly IS Canadian Club? I'm thinking it's something like Ginger Ale?

Rye ages in barrels, not bottles. The alcohol content is too high for anything bad for you to grow in it but the flavouring will be affected. You can drink it but it's a waste of good rye.
