They are $88. My parents say I'll grow out of them and it's a waste of money. I still want them though! They're so cute!

Ask if you can earn them. If you seriously want them as much as you say you will be happy to do extra chores around the house.

Parents are usually giving advise from years of experience--long before you were around. They wanted expensive stuff too--and saw what a waste somethings can be. Later in life, you will be a parent--hoping a no answer will sink in and the kids will understand. You want the shoes--but you want to win also---a sign of struggle and immaturity---even if you have the 88 dollars--you can spend it on the shoes--but in todays world, 88 dollars will buy a lot more than cute shoes--and you will wish for that 88 dollars for something else--probably more important stuff too. Be nice, be respectful--learn the lesson and grow up. Cute shoes are not a priority in life---after you show all your friends the CUTE shoes--then what?? It is lame--get a grip, let your folks see you are growing up and accepting their decisions for a change. Good luck, friend.

Why don't you EARN them? If they are that important to you, you should be willing to work for them. If you won't work for them, you don't deserve them. Your parents are expected to provide your clothing, food, roof over your head, medical care, but not Coach shoes. That's up to you. Now step away from the computer and ask your parents how you can go about earning those shoes. You'll all appreciate them more!

Your parents are right, that's a stupid amount to pay for shoes. I think the spendyest pair I have were $29.00 but if I wear shoes, it's usually the $19.95 Teva's. Save the money for things which matter! (not fashion fluff stuff)

As long as you have suitable shoes for your activities, and they fit well, that's fine. When you can afford to buy your own expensive shoes, then you should have as many as your heart desires. ☺

You don't need them. You could pay a child's entire education for a year and more for the price of those shoes. Don't be so selfish. Instead, you should give.
