He is seventeen and yesterday tried to kill himself by setting himself on fire. We really need all the prayers no matter what religious beliefs you have, as long as you believe in a higher power. As for the atheists, I would greatly appreciate kind words for him as he is atheist as you are. He is a wonderful person, who has been battling this for 4 years. When he was given a blood test, there were no traces of drugs or alcohol. Please no hateful answers as we could use your prayers and best wishes.

Before some one you start screaming get him help, he has been under a psychiatrist's care and on meds. He seems to be getting worse instead of better. Now he is in a hospital for treatment and will be there indefinitely.

Dear diamondlil´s. My prayers are with your grandson. As a person suffering of depression and psychosis I have read a lot about the subject. I found that these mental illnesses are caused by an imbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. This is why your grandson is able to perceive things that the normal people can´t. The spiritual explanation is that the person has a spirit attached to his aura that makes him try to kill himself (I have experienced this forces of spirits. It is a horrible experience!). It will be good for your grandson to go to a psychiatrist. The doctor can prescribe medicines that can help him diminish the symptoms that he is having. On the spiritual side of this I think it is so good that you are asking people to pray!. There was an experiment made in which monks prayed to a water molecule, the molecule improved. Human beings are 100% water, so if we pray the molecules of your grandson will improve too. God bless you and your family. Argentox2@yahoo.com

I'm so sorry for your pain. I have a son that is bipolar and borderline schizophrenia, along with being depressed. He's 37 and it's been a looooooong road.
I will pray for your son but I'm also sending a link where you can ask for prayer. People from all over the world will pray for him. I've used it several times and it always helps. Just be sure to let them know when he gets better. Good luck and my prayers are with your entire family.

I feel bad for you. I have a little six yr. old step granddaughter who not only has schitzophrenia, but has also been diagnosed with PTSD, anorexia, bulimia, and on top of that she is autistic and suffering from a form of dwarfism. She was mentally and sexually abused as a baby by her real mother and maternal grandparents. She purges every time she eats anything, and she is the size of a four yr. old. She becomes very violent, and hallucinates, and the State of Ohio won't do a thing for her!! My stepdaughter and the child's father are getting divorced because she couldn't handle the situation, and he refuses to give her back to her biological abusive mother. It's a no win situation, and the lives of her, her daddy, my stepdaughter and stepdaughter's natural daughter have been destroyed. I've prayed and prayed for her and all we can do is leave it in God's hands. My prayers are with you.

i will pray for your grand son to get better. the most important thing you can do now, is make sure he is taking his medication. it is usually the reason people have to be readmitted to hospital. this may not be the case re guarding your son. most people with schizophrenia respond well to medication, but a few do not respond well. they may have to try other anti psychotic medication that will help his symptoms. there are also some inject able medications that have a longer lasting effect, and can be monitored in the blood stream. there are also newer medications on the market for people with schizophrenia, that do not respond well to medication, that the hospital may try. being 17 is difficult on its own, and the last thing a 17 year old wants to hear is that he is mentally Ill, which can make treatment difficult. hopefully he wont be in hospital indefinitely, and in time will get better. as i said before, medications are the most important treatment for this illness. good luck to him, and you

Yes, I will pray for him. I completely understand what you are going through, as I have a son that is also depressed and has been without a job for 3 years. He seldom leaves the house. Medication is not working. Let's join our prayers together and ask Almighty God to help your grandson and my son. Best Wishes!!

My thoughts and prayers are with him and your family. I've never believed in any specific religion but being on that end of so much good energy has got to have an effect. Good luck to him in battling this and I sincerely hope it all turns out well.

A true Schizophrenic has to be counseled, monitored and medicated. It is a medical condition in need of treatment, no different than cancer. The first thing you or any other loved one should do is try to convince your grandson that he has an illness that needs treatment. He will need lots of support, keep in mind he doesn't trust easily
