I would say Dove because it contains emollients which help moisturize the skin. My grandmother wouldn't use any other soap.

I would personally say Dove. Ivory leaves the sticky feeling on your skin.

It would be a personal choice, and how the product works for you etc.Ivory has been around for years & years and is the choice for many women and mothers for their babies.I personally don't like it, for me its very drying and it almost leaves my skin with a little burning sensation.3 years ago I discovered the new "dove" line of skin care and products for hair, and I love them,my skin and hair have never been in better condition. The price is also right for the quality you get. Go to dove.com and you can get free samples and coupons. Please don't let your Mom sue me for not agreeing with her,who knows let her try some, she may like it better. Take care. SW RNP

Ivory soap is THE most drying soap ever invented!!
Pediatricians will tell you to not wash your children with Ivory soap.
Dove has moisturizer added.

I think dove is nice (my mom's homemade soaps are far better, of course), but don't forget to always use a good mostuirizer and sunscreen... it keeps dry skin from precocious ageing process.

I'm partial to Dove myself. My husband and I have really dry/ensitive skin and it's never given me any problems- infact I find that Ivory is a little irritatiing to my skin.

dove is better for dry skin. I like Ivory but it dries out my skin, i'd never use it on already dry skin.

Ivory makes my dry skin drier. I like caress better than both of those!
P.S. Try not to argue with the m-i-l. Your husband can get a new wife...he can't get a new mother!
