I'm currently working right now as a call center agent here in Manila and I don't know if I'm having a problem with my health or what. So I would just like to ask if having a night shift job is really unhealthy or it would still depend on the physical health of one being?

Night workers often suffer from disturbed daytime sleep, which may be due to increased noise, but it is more likely due to the body just not being ready to sleep during the day. This lack of good quality sleep among night workers can lead to chronic fatigue, which can be shown as tiredness, irritability and depression. They may also suffer from loss of appetite and digestive problems. These symptoms quickly disappear when they return to normal work and sleep patterns.

Workers on late or night shifts often feel isolated from their family and friends because they are working when others are socialising. Family life can be difficult.

About two-thirds of shift workers suffer from some kind of ill-health, and about one-quarter have to give up shiftwork because of major health problems.

I've worked it for 4 years. It's healthy for me, far healthier than day shift would be.

It's really an individual thing. Some people will react well to the hours, some will not.

If you do it all the time and can sleep during the day, you're fine.
The shifts where you have one week day and one week night play havoc with your health. Your body clock gets confused and those shifts should only be done for a short time.

I think it is. My husband worked the night shift for years and was irritable and always sick with colds and such. Once he stopped he was in better spirits and not sick as much.

i don't think its that bad for your health. You just got to adjust your hours and sleep odd hours.
