Im planning on going on holiday with a friend in august, was planning on going to tenerife but thought it might be too hot... Does anyone know of anywhere we can go away for, for a week in august (not too hot) and also we have a tight budget... (both 18yrs/female)

Tenerife in August is not going ot be too hot. It gets a good breeze which keeps you cool. Its not an island thats associated with scorching temperatures because of this.

August is summer and the hottest month of the year. Do you have a passport? Most Caribbean islands require a passport except US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. You don't say where you will be traveling from and what you call cheap? A few more details would get you some good suggestions.

i got a 2 week holiday last year for €488 2 playa del ingles but that was first 2 weeks of june loved every minute of it

Come to Sri Lanka- it might rain a little, but it is the cheapest place in Asia.
