I don't think that cameras on the stop lights should be allowed! If the police don't catch you, to bad for them-it's their bad. I didn't think it was legal!!!! What are your thoughts on this subject? Do you think this development is OK?

This is not a direct answer. I live in Ohio. Our state government has mad a few attempts to make enforcing the tickets impossible without actually making them illegal. I think they should either outlaw the cameras or let local governments decide how to use the.

One example of the laws I mentioned would require an officer to be present to write the ticket. This naturally makes the camera unnecessary. Another would REQUIRE positive identification of the driver while PROHIBITING the camera from photographing the drivers face. How is that supposed to work?

Well it does generate some questions. I live in a small town that has amain hwy that goes stright through it with college students flying all the time. They tried it out here 2 days at an intersection that has many wrecks everday of the week . The first day they had 68 people run that light the second day there were close to 100. So I would say if this teaches people to slow down when peoples lives are in danger they should be ticketed to save lives. There has been so many times I have and Im sure youve had people do really crazy things and you wished a cop was around to give them a ticket. I think its a good thing as long its where you really need it at big bad intersections.

You would be amazed at some of the stuff people will do when they think no one is looking. Run stop signs, red light, take over other cars illegally, cut lanes dangerously, not give way to pedestrians, etc. Obviously the cops can not be everywhere to catch these people. And these people ought be to nabbed anytime they do something wrong. Why? Because its not fair to people like us who obey the law. So please don't say that its too bad if the cops can't catch the offenders. I think whenever and where-ever there is a way to stop these dangerous people we should do it. Cameras are fine with me.

Yes; don't run the red light. The reason they were placed is because people would run the red and cause accidents because they felt no one else was around. They can increase the police force and station someone at those intersections instead; would you like that? That is what will happen if they are removed, they are far too valuable for motorist/pedestrian safety.

Same with speed bumps, they're for people who drive around 50mph in residential zones.

It already been decided in courts of law that stop light cameras are legal. Most traffic regulations improve safety. Quit running red lights and you have nothing to worry about.

Don't like the cameras....don't run the red light, its really that simple. NO ONE has a right to drive, its a privilege, that's granted by the state issuing you a licenses. If you don't drive in accordance with the law, you pay the penalty, or you loose your privilege.

yeh, stop means stop, who do you think you are, special, that the red light doesn't pertain to you, you got caught, to bad, whaaaaaa, I hope you got caught in Los Angeles County where you will really cry when the judge tells you the fine. and if that doesn't help you obey the law, maybe the next person who runs a red light will hit you in the drivers door and you get the message

Cameras are quite legal, the images being absolutely admissible in a court of law. Are you saying you think it's ok to run stoplights?
