Depression is anger toward inward. It sounds like you need to talk to a professional.

I have suffered from depression for years and years. In fact I am bi-polar so I know what I'm talking about. I, too, was self-destructive until I had therapy which helped me figure out the "whys" of it all. Please, there is a better life waiting for you. Get help as soon as you can and good luck.

Self destructive behaviors serve as a release or coping mechanism. Also, when you are depressed, your self esteem dramatically decreases and you feel bad about yourself. Thus, you dont care and let yourself go....you may stop bathing, engage in alcohol/drug or exhibit destructive behaviors (cutting, anorexia, bulimia)...get help so that you can get out of the funk you are in.

ahhh DEPRESSION the word says it all. as a chic who has suffered from depression for YEARS i can tell you ....
whether you want to or not you need to seek professional help. i didn't want to and it only prolonged the my suffering. if you are currently being treated you've got to tell the doc what your feeling! self destruction is a part of your imbalance but with the right treatment you can feel normal/ better.good luck.

Because you're looking for an outlet to put your emotions into and it becomes addictive after once or twice. That's why you'll go back to it. I understand what it feels like more than you know but you need to get help. No one will think the less of you.

If you emerged from the depression, you wouldn't self-destruct.
