When I go to bathroom I first wash my hands. Then after Im done, I take a small clean toilet paper and flush the toilet. Then I wash my hands for 20s, grab paper towel and with the paper towel open the door and throw it in the garbage.

Oh and I never sit in public toilets like some other people do. But it's hard because Im a girl so you have to be careful.

Why am I Selfish for flushing the toilet and leaving my germs?

Why am I Selfless if I flush the germs away? Germs are living things and I am killing them to be selfless???

I just go in the public toilet with my hazard suit and gasmask - spray the toilet seat with disinfectant, dry it with my own toilet roll and do the business.

Then I wipe and close the lid down. I never leave the lid open when flushing... germs! Wipe the toilet handles then flush while holding anti-bac wipes on handle. Go wash my gloves and hands.

Strip down to my normal clothes and roll up my hazard suit into a bag then proceed to leave the hell hole.

Sometimes if the public toilet is truly EVIL.... I just stand and not touch the toilet seat while having a wee. Then scamper out washing my hand with my own cleaning products.

I carry a packet of anti-bacterical wipes with me to wipe on tolley handles, or wipe my hands after being on a bus and holding on barriers and poles. I wash my hands after touching and exchanging money.

No-one washes their hands before they flush. That would be too weird. It doesn't matter if you leave germs on the handle or pick up someone elses. As long as you wash your hands after, everything's rosy.

What about the tap handles too, though? To turn the tap on, I have to put germs on it, but then I pick the germs back up by turning the tap off.

If it is a public toilet I do a big taekwondo move with my leg and flush it that way. If it is a pull chain I check I have no cuts on my fingers then flush then wash my hands afterwards. As long as you wash your hands afterwards and reach all the crevices you will not be at any risk. In answer to your question, that makes me selfish I suppose, but with a good immune system there is no need to worry.

I flush first, then wash my hands. Most public restrooms here have only the toilet in the stall, and the sink outside, so you'd have to walk out, wash your hands and go back into the stall to flush! Would be very impractical and often times there'd be someone in there already who'd have discovered you hadn't flushed (yet)! Besides I have never heard of anyone washing their hands and flushing afterwards, so I'd think the handle wasn't exactly clean to start with.... my few germs aren't going to make a lot of difference.

Thats a great question... I guess... Sometimes don't wash hands... But I do flush the toilet. I'd love to say I wash my hands, flush the loo, wash the handle, then wash my hands again, but I can't, because I don't.

flush first with the toilet seat down keeping the germs where they belong then wash hands leaving the water run while i dry with a paper towel and then turn the water off with the paper towel I've just used ,I'd be more worried about the smelly people who don't flush or wash and then touch the door Handel with all their germs.

I flush first, assuming that everyone else in my home does, therefore if I leave my germs behind it is okay, being that they will wash their hands after they have touched the handle. But only my husband and I use our bathroom so since I have shared MANY more things with him, a few germs won't hurt.

Neither. When I do my business, I lift the cover and seat with my foot, and flush with my foot. Probably not the heathiest for the next guy considering I was most likely standing in piss before I lifted the seat and flushed with my foot.

Pee troughs at ball games? No need to flush, constant running water and a yellow river drifting by (plus cigarette butts and beer cups).

Wall mounted urinals? Bump the handle with an elbow.

I look out for #1 before I step in #2.

Once you leave a stall or urinal, someone else steps in to take your place. It's impractical to go back and flush after you wash your hands. To do so would not be selfless but simply stupid.

You should flush the toilet when you are finished so it is available for the next person to use, they should not have to wait for you to finish washing your hands.
