Regarding Chris H's answers - if you meant that the Chinese food were different than the United States - that is correct. However The food in Hong Kong is mostly Cantonese food

As far as I know Hong Kong's food is a lot more authentic than the Chinese food in the United States

Though I have some bad experiences with the waitresses in Hong Kong Restaurant - they were rude and it seems that they are in a great hurry to kick you out :/ I don't like people rushing me when I eat :/

It is true that the service in some restaurant in HK is not a good thing u ever want to experienced especially in busy hours and cheap restaurants... BUt the food here are Great... so yummy from the street vendors to restaureants they offer very authentic Canton food.. dont forget to try Wanton Noddles in Mong Kok, Siu Mei Fan (BBQ meats with rice) Char Siu Fan is the best wherever u can find Sui Mei Shop..the shops usually hang many roasted ducks, porks and Steamed chickens.

i've been to hong kong a couple of years ago. from expirience i would have to say that the food is not exactly like the chinese food like they have here. its similar, but not as good in my opinion. but in hong kong they have many diffrent types of food. not just chinese. you would be suprise to see how many east indian restraunts they have there. they also have russian and alot of american restaurants there too. however if your looking for a wide variety of foods i suggest that you go to a huge shopping mall called "Ocean Terminal" . its near the star ferry. ocean termial also connects to 2 other huge shopping malls as well. it links to ocean center and harbour city. if your going in a large group or family. go to these malls. trust me, everyone will find the type of food they want. if you need any other info about HK, just let me know.
