When I do certification for VA, I certify how many full time hours you are at school which is 12... but the VA decides if you should receive full time benefits. I've had students who have been in 12 hours but were only receiving part time benefits. I don't know what their system is, but they base it off of how long the class lasted, how many hours it is, etc... You can always call them, at 1-888-442-4551. Also, I know with certification they are very behind.

I am a certifying VA official at my school and you would still have to attend 12 credits at my school to be considered full time for VA. When certifying students we just enter the number of credits so you would probably have to take 12 credits at any school to be full time.
