it depends on how much you weigh to start with. the best way to lose weight is to find a healty eating regime that you can stick to and doesn't make you feel like you're depriving yourself. have a look at this bbc website - it's got some really helpful tips (like increasing low fat dairy makes you poo more fat) and it's sensible advice not 'take this magic pill and you will be a size 0 in a month' sort of thing).

eta. just read the answers above... i always thought when you started a diet / healthier eating you could expect to lose more in the first week then it started to slow down after that? i wouldn't worry about it if you lose more than 3lbs in the first week and don't worry if you don't either! x

If you drop weight to quickly, your body will react negatively.

If you loose 1 to 2 lbs a week you have a better chance of keeping it off

usually they say 2 pounds a week, although i must admit if my diet was going at that pace i would pack it all in. Best way to do it is to eat healthy and to exercise regularly.

everyone keeps asking, how do i loose weight? why is it that we complicate things. there is no easy way, honey u just have to eat less and burn more calories. and avg should be 2lbs a week
