Here is what is happening. I had trouble for about 4 weeks now with my computer, I reinstalled windows 2 times, and this time I got to the 2 newest updates, and I can't get them. I go to Microsoft Update, and it loads. I hit custom (Or express). It loads saying theres 2, but I want to download the WMP11 like I had before, but when I hit software button, instead of showing the 10 software updates, it loads the home page inside the update window...like it just restarted...then, it freezes and IE has to be shut down.

So, how do I fix this?

It is odd that you are not able to download updates. Someone mentioned clearing out temporary files and that is an excellent idea. You can use Windows Disk Cleanup. You will find it at Start menu > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. Delete Temporary Internet Files, Temporary Files, Download Program Files and Recycle Bin.

You don't have to download WMP 11 from Microsoft's website, you can also download it at http://www.filehippo.com/download_windows_media_player/

When you install it, the software will automatically scan your computer and determine if you have a genuine copy of Windows. Chances are that the Windows Genuine Advantage validation tool is already installed on your computer. WGA is a critical update which has been around for the last year.

You should also run an error check on your hard drive. It is very odd you had to reinstall Windows twice. There is a chance your hard drive is damaged. You can access error check by right clicking your hard drive and choose Properties. Next, click on the Tools tab and choose Error Check.
