Ive worn this bra many time before and it hasnt irritated me, i havent changed softeners or anything, and yes i do wash my clothes and bathe regularly - why today - what could be the cause?

I was going to suggest that you use a moisturizer. but you already have. Have you switched bar soaps? laundry soap? Any change in your diet? have you started to take new vitamins or medicine? I don't think it is the bra unless you are using a different soap to wash it with. Try using a non allergenic soap. You know the kind that all chemicals, colors, scents are taken out of the product.

If you come up with no for answers to all of these, then it is time to go see a doctor. not a regular md. go see a gynocoligist (sp?). the should be able to tell you right off what is wrong.

I have seen this question before on a doctor page in a magazine. The answer could be that you are suffering from a virus. If you have a good immune system it could be that the virus is being kept at bay and this is the only symptom. I know once when I was feeling unwell I had the same thing and a friend of mine told me that whenever she gets flu or anything the same thing happens to her. Just take it easy for a few days and see if it goes away. If it persists for longer I would check it out with your doctor because it could be a hormonal thing.

It could be a yeast (thrush) infection. If it doesn't stop itching in a day or two it's probably worth checking with your doctor. Cotton lined bras are always preferable as they absorb any moisture/perspiration. Bras without an absorbent lining can make your nipples/breasts quite sticky and hot - perfect conditions for thrush to develop.

Be careful with moisturisers aroung the breasts not good as they soak it all up and can be linked with cancer. I only got that when I was pregnant but I do believe you can get it during the menstrual cycle.

Talk to your OB-GYN if the condition persists.

Recommend using a non-scented soap for sensitive skin like Dove Sensitive Skin (pediatricians recommend this for babies) or just use water to wash your breasts.

Ive had the same problem before. i always thought it was the rubbing of the material against my skin and ignored it....and because i get itchy legs from cold air and material rubbing off my skin...i blamed the change in cold weather too!

I AM NOT A GIRL BUT SERIOUSLY SOUNDS LIKE YOU COULD BE HAVING A "YEAST INFECTION" CAN GO AROUND YOUR BREAST ..NO MATTER HOW MUCH WE BATH AND NO MATTER HOW CLEAN WE ARE , IT CAN STILL HAPPEN.. TRY USING A ANTIFUNGAL CREAM !
