USB is for still photos. Firewire is for video, it is about 150 times faster than USB.

Firewire was brought out as a superior serial bus to USB.
But the USB came out with 2.0 and it is faster.
There are also many more compatible devices for USB.

USB is not a good option for transferring video. Use firewire.

FireWire, if you can get it to work right, does the best job.

USB is right on the threshold (4 MBPS) and you can suffer drop frame in real time.
