You need to combine a reasonable diet with the exercise, but walking or walking\running is a great way to lose weight. Walk faster than normal to start, 30 minutes at a time, 4 times a week, and gradually add substitute running into the mix

If you are new to exercise then you need to build up cardiovascular exercises. Buy a pedometer and start off by doing some walking. Pick a nearby park that you like and walk around it as long as you can be bothered. Note the number of steps you took. Then the next time you do it, try and beat the number of steps you took the first time and continue this process. If you feel up for it, try some light jogging until you get tired. Then build up to light running and increase the distance you do each time.
Try to exercise at least three times a week and gradually increase the length of the distance you do.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, this in itself will help you lose weight.
To relieve the boredom, try and find a partner you can exercise wiith and that will act as a great motivator too. Good luck!

All kinds of exercises can help you lose weight, but to really see results, try combining regular exercise with a calorie controlled diet like the WeightWatchers system.

I don't know if I'm wasting your time by telling you something you don't want to hear, but I am speaking from my own experience.

Don't overdo the exercise at first, build it up gradually; and if you do decide to change your food intake, do it safely, don't starve yourself as all you'll do is put your body into famine mode. See your doctor for the best advice for you.

If you are overweight, look for any exercises that involve vigorous sweating(e.g. jogging.) Swimming is also a great way to lose excess body fat. Trust me. That is the best exercise to do when trying to lose weight. Any cardiovascular exercise would be good for losing pounds.
Now if you do manage to lose some weight, the next step is to tone your body. This is where muscle development comes in. Make a time table that would require you to lift weights or exercise your muscles in one day, then you do cardio the following day. For example, you jog on Monday and you lift weights on Tuesday, you swim on Tuesday and you do situps, push-ups, etc. on Wednesday. That way you exercise everyday. Thus, you don't gain weight.
Anyway, good luck with your diet program and your bid to lose weight!

Cardio (aerobic) exercise is the only way to burn fat. If you want to lose weight, drink lots of water, and get aerobic exercise once a day. An Aerobic exercise elevates your pulse for more than twenty minutes.
