It takes the same time to boil 4 eggs as it does 1.
Length of time is anything from 2 and a half to five minutes (soft boiled and according to taste/preference) to 7 minutes hard boiled.
Boil water in saucepan and when boiled let eggs sit in pan with water just simmering/close to boil.
Personal preference would be for a large egg at this heat 5 and a half minutes which gets my white hard but my yolk is still runny.

Never boil eggs, simmer them. Boiling them toughens the white part and makes them chewy. It also makes the sulphur contained in the white part set and causes the green tinge you see when you cut the egg.

Instead, bring a pot of water to a boil, reduce the heat to allow it to barely simmer, then put your eggs in gently and cook them 8 minutes for medium eggs, 9 minutes for large, 10 minutes for extra large and 11 minutes for jumbo sized eggs.

At the end of cooking, immediately drain the hot water and put ice and cold water in the pot to cool the eggs. If you intend to peel them soon thereafter, shake the pan after you empty the hot water and before you add the cold to break the crack the shells and allow the sulphur to exit the shell and the cold to enter and shrink the egg back from the shell to make peeling a breeze.

Soft cooking eggs uses the same method of cooking but reduces the time to 3 1/2 minutes for soft, 4 minutes for more set and five minutes to make the yolk barely run.

It takes about 23 minutes for me to cook hard boiled eggs at medium temperature.. I wouldn't suggest you to cook the eggs at high temperature especially with an electric stove because the water will spill from the pot. Or, you could just pour cold water into the pot every 7 mintues. Yes, it takes a while. You can also check if the egg is fully cooked by sticking a hole into the shell.

the best way to boil an egg is to put them in cold water then bring to a boil turn off the heat and cover pot with top or plate and let sit for 12 mins. take out and if the egg is able to spin on its top then it is ready.(a raw egg can't spin like a top)

Usually 12 minutes on a rolling boil. I always boil one more egg than needed to use as a test egg. Just crack it open & you will know if the others need more time.
