I think you are wanting an operation for nothing, think of all the risks, my mo-to is If its not broke don't fix it.
Your husband married you just the way you are so relax and leave your tongue alone.
Good Luck

Being tongue tied can cause some medical problems such as dental ones and then it might be thought you need an operation to cure it but there is no general yes/no answer to the question of whether it should be done or not and each Case in adults/teenagers is considered individually as to the medical need. But if you don't want it done when it doesn't really worry you why bother

Hi, I was tongue tied too! I had my tongue thingy clipped when i was about 17. I'm 19 now, but if you do decide to have it done keep in mind I couldn't talk or eat regularly till about 10 days afterwards. It wasn't awful, but it definatley wasn't pleasant. I had mine done because it was started to cause pain whenever i talked for long periods of time...lol.. anyways i had mine done but since my muscles were already trained i really can't stick my tongue out all that far...i mean not nearly as far as other people because apparently those muscles were not ever used and are too weak...oh and they didn't cut mine when i was little since they waited to see if it caused problems....it didn't till i was about 15!

Yes you can get the skin under your tonge clipped.

my son had his done when he was 16. he used to get ulcers because his tounge was so tied it used to catch on his teeth. We went to the dentist and they referred him to the hospital, the surgery took about 45 mins and he hasn't looked back since. He can now stick out his tonge.

There is no need to have the frenulum (the structure that you see between the teeth and the bottom of the tongue) clipped if it doesn't affect speech or chewing.

The frenum of your tongue is an extraordinarily skinny fiber and it takes basically some seconds to do the technique. you would be numb and the nitrous oxide (giggling gas) will make all of it appear like a dream. solid luck and happy talking after wards. attempt to be careful to no longer bite on your tongue after. it rather is going to be numb for countless hours. No chewing on nutrition till at last the sensation comes returned!!!

Yes you can have it cut if it bothers you. If you are UK you would have to prove that interferes with your life to get it done on NHS. I believe it is a simple snip.

Hope that helps
