What could Iran possibly hope to gain by nuking the US and Israel? Ahmadinejad might be wacky, but he's not stupid. You do realize that with our troops in Afghanistan, and our alliance with Pakistan, we have a massive presence on Iran's eastern border. Would he really want to turn those guns toward him? He's not even that well liked among his own people. He narrowly won re-election, and many call that a vote of no confidence in him.
China and Russia have much more to be gained economically and politically from the West than they do from Iran. And with as much Western business that there is in China now, which has made the Chinese brass very wealthy, do you really think they would jump to the side of North Korea? North Korea would get lip service at best.
Why would Saudi Arabia and Turkey fight together, or fight at all?
Why would Iran and Syria fight together, or fight at all?
Your argument is very thin.

Well, why don't you understand too that many people never wanted war?.
Iraq and Iran used to be the competing forces that kept the balance of power in that region, and they kept each other in check. What was G W Bush thinking when he decided to invade Iraq?. Didn't he know that by knocking-out Iraq's military, he will be altering the balance of power in Iran's favor?.
I am not an intelligence expert nor a political analyst. But I expected this reality coming right from the start. On the very first day when Bush unleashed his "shock and awe" with bombs hitting military targets in Baghdad, I already knew that Iran will have everything to gain from this American action. I told myself, Bush is committing a huge mistake.
Now, the U.S. is confronted with that exact dillema. What to do in dealing with Iran?. This is now the reality that stares us right in our faces.

Probably because those people who don't understand are seeing our troops over there getting wounded or killed. As for the oil, those same people don't understand that during WWII our troops kept the oil, etc. from the enemy in Germany, so their military equipment wouldn't work. That helped us win the war. They also don't seem to understand how small this world has gotten over the past several years. Nor are they realizing the fact that these extemists are wanting to make the whole world Muslim. And they will do whatever they have to - to try and accomplish this. Not only Muslim-but to the extreme of Muslim. Like they are. Regular Muslims are not the problem. The extremists are. And, true, I dont think the North Koreans would "just sit there" either. Take care.

I agree, I don't live in the US, and don't have cable to begin with, so to all the other people, I don't watch Fox. But yeah, it's so obvious, I hate seeing the Americans in Iraq, but obviously, people don't learn from history. Everybody said the same thing about hitler as they are saying about Iran. He's not attacking anybody, and he's just building up the countries pride and dignity by building up the army. What happened afterwards when nobody did anything, once he got strong enough, he invaded another country, and the rest is history. Not that that will happen, but it's very possible, especially with all this brain washed Islam Radical loosers out there.

Let's see, the Iranians and Iraqis fought for nearly ten years in the 1980s, and it was a draw... of course the U.S. first helped one side, then the other, whenever it suited our purposes (thereby making deeper enemies of both sides).
I doubt if the rest of the Muslim world would sit by and watch non-muslim Iran dominate Iraq.

Don't YOU realize, this same, OLD, TIRED, ARGUMENT has been used to continue waging illegal and immoral wars for over 200 years;
The last time was just 40 years ago when we were over in Vietnam illegally murdering vietnamese and cambodians and Thais, etc.
And, gee, guess what, when we brought out troops home, the Cambodians and North Vietnamese, NEVER INVADED THE UNITED STATES. and they were able to solve all their own NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY PROBLEMS THEMSELVES. WITHOUT OUR INTERFERENCE.
Why do people like you always fall for the same old Hogwash from politicians who just want to stay in office.
Sunis and Shi'as have been murdering each other for OVER 800 years. Do you honestly believe the United States is SO MAGICAL we can actually stop something that has been taking place since their Great God Mohammed DIED.
Where did you get your EGO.

Man, you're parroting the "domino theory." It was used for years to justify the VietNam war. "If we don't make a stance here the whole region will go to the communists." Turned out that we lost 50,000 men, killed countless Vietnamese civilians, got our *** kicked and guess what? The domino theory never was proven.
Why don't you get your *** over there? Or send your brother and your sister or your son and daughter?

Because the majority of the news is about Iraq. If they wrote about the other stuff going on around the world. Maybe, just maybe they would talk about that as well.

Ok...let's have it your way. Congress needs to declare war, institute a comprehensive draft (men and women...can't discriminate) with no deferments -- everybody goes...because we are at war. Immediate rationing of strategic resources, because again...we are at war.
Then let's see how quickly it ends once everyone has a personal stake in it. This "war" would end pretty quickly I would predict.
