Yep you heard correctly!

Reason is because science has confirmed that the universe had a beginning which is the conclusion from the Big Bang Theory. I do not subscribe to the BBT but the conclusion is nevertheless true, that the universe had a beginning.

God by definition is eternal. Something that is eternal has no beginning. So while the universe begs a cause because it has a beginning, God does not. Only things which have a beginning must have a cause.

God has been here since the beginning of time. and hes the one who created the universe and heaven and life.

Precisely because God created time and space so he is bigger than all of this. He is beyond having a beginning or an end like us or other things. I don't think we can really understand until we die and go to the spirit world because our physical brains just can't grasp this truth. I wish I could understand it more clearly too.

They always say "God is outside of science" (i.e., just popped up or has always existed - no beginning) like as if that's supposed to mean something profound...
