Other ARABS are currently attacking Iraq...mostly because we're there. We attacked in 2003 to oust Saddam Hussein from power ( and make a ton of money exploiting the Iraqi people in the process ). What we didn't count on (AT ALL) was the fact that Sunni Arabs HATE Shi'a Arabs more than either of them hate us. Also the occupation of Iraq gives us a chance to fight and kill would be terrorists before they get a chance to come to America and kill more U.S. civilians. Many Muslim people are convinced that the West in general and The U.S. specifically are their mortal enemy and they will stop at nothing (including suicide attacks) to kill as many of us as they can. I think most Muslims wish we would butt-out of the Middle East altogether, so they could destroy Israel and reclaim the Palestinian homeland that was stolen from them in 1948 when the Jewish homeland was established there. I guess it seemed like a good idea at the time, but it stands as the one main reason that there is so much violence in the Middle East today, and why the next Great War will most likely happen there.

The war in Iraq provides the gutless George Bush with the excuse to call himself a "wartime president". That way he can oversee the steady destruction of our precious freedoms under the pretense of an emergency.
But IMHO the real reason for the war is that Iraq, under Saddam, was successfully giving up dollar trading in favor of euro trading for oil. That's why Saddam had to be not just deposed but publicly humiliated to warn other oil producing people not to do the same thing. George Bush is much happier with his friends and longtime business patners the Saudi Arabians and the Bin Laden family, who are staying with the dollar as their medium for oil trading.

The president lied to America and said it was to find weapons of mass destruction, however, it was to get rid of Saddam not to find weapons.
They knew there was no W.M.D. yet they still went in anyway and now they have executed Saddam the only person who has ever controlled Iraq and the terrorists.
Saddam hated the terrorists as much as we do and he had no weapons of mass destruction yet we attacked their country and that was when the U.S. Became the terrorists we are supposedly protecting the world from..
The U.S. attacked Iraq under false pretenses, (Weapons of Mass Destruction) stating they were stopping a mad man from using these weapons that the government knew were destroyed. C.I.A. records confirm we knew before the invasion.

We did not attack Iraq. We invaded Iraq for the purpose of freeing the Iraqi people of the tyranny of Saddam Hussain. We did attack specific targets held by his military, which is also known and proven to have killed millions of their own people upon Saddam's whim. They had closed hospitals and schools to use them as weapons stashes.
As a result of our freeing the Iraqi people of Saddam's presence and the military oppression at the hands of the IRaqi army, the Iraqi people have hospitals, schools, running water, mosques, bridges... all kinds of basic services that had been denied to them by Saddam's regime.
The current fighting is because of the insurgent forces... mostly people from other countries. At this point, we are trying to help the Iraqi people as they gear up to take control of their own security. Their govenment is their own... but their security forces need additional training. And, the insurgents are fighting to prevent stability in Iraq... Who knows why?
The Iraqi people, for the most part, are thankful for the US actions to date... but look forward to the day when their own military and police forces are able to take on the task of security in Iraq.

It's not for oil. If it were for oil, why are troops building roads, schools, and hospitals? If it were for oil, wouldn't it be easier to just guard the oilfields?
