Theres this girl ive like for a long time now. Were friends and we talk alot. I want to ask her to see a movie on the weekend but i don't really know what the best way to do it. I also am not sure if she likes me back. Were at a steady place and i really dont wanna screw things up so she wont talk to me.

This is part of growing up. Sometimes you have to make decisions that can hurt, or give you what you want.
If you make the decision that you'd rather tell her how you feel or at least try to start showing her, then you just wait till you both are alone. Then, just tell her that lately you've been thinking about her more and more and you'd like to take her to a movie this weekend..or whenever...maybe she has the same feelings about you and has just been waiting for you to do something!
